Cucurella Cat is the FootyTracks comedy anthem for the biggest meme of the 2026 World Cup: a tabby in a curly black wig that looks uncannily like Marc Cucurella. The clip started on TikTok on 5 July 2025, posted as a joke about a cat who happened to be a Cucurella fan. It exploded worldwide a year later while Spain won the tournament, spawning versions of the cat in a Real Madrid kit and Cucurella himself lifting his feline double. After the final, Google added an Easter egg to searches for his name, dropping the cat at the bottom of the page waving a Spanish flag. The joke landed on a serious season. Cucurella played every minute of Spain's World Cup at left back. He shut Kylian Mbappé out of the semi-final and Lionel Messi out of the final, and he had already left Chelsea for Real Madrid in a deal worth an initial 55 million euros. The sound is a playful Afrobeats and reggaeton bounce at around 108 BPM, built on a "miau, miau" singalong hook that swaps the catalogue's usual open vowels for an actual cat noise, and a name-pun payoff in the bridge: the cat's name is Marc.
